The problem of dog allergies has always been the most annoying thing for owners. Sometimes the owner may think that allergies are just minor problems and didn’t take them seriously. This will only harm the dog and make the dog suffer!

Having a dog with allergy issues can be incredibly frustrating… for you and your dog.

Allergies are immune system responses where your dog’s body goes a little haywire in response to a trigger. No matter what you do to deal with them if you’re exposing your dog to allergens, the problems and discomfort continue.

Below are some common signs that your dog may be suffering from food allergies.

Symptoms 1: Chronic Ear Infections

Ear infection, if your dog has an ear infection and more than 2 -3 treatments a year, literally a sign of food allergy.

While yeast infections, ear mites, ear polyps, or greasy ears can all be common causes of ear infections.

What do dog ears with allergies look like?

Stinky, persistent head shaking, scratching at the ear area.

Symptoms 2: Red, Brown, Or Bronze Nail Beds

If the nails of the dog itself are white, it is easier to observe, such as white bully breeds, Dalmatians, Boxers, Bulldogs, and Spaniels. The owner can observe that the bottom of the dog’s nails is red or even bloody. These are all signs of inflammation and immunity response. Dogs are telling us this way: “I have food allergies”.

But the owners first have to rule out foot injury or thyroid disease.

Symptoms 3: Reddish-brown lips

This situation is more obvious to be found, especially for white breed dogs. The owner can see if the dog’s lips, chin, and toes are red, pink, and have inflammation and itching. But first-  to rule out the possibility of yeast infection.

Symptoms 4:Itchy Skin, Red or Dull Abdomen

If you find your dog’s constant itching, the skin under the hair is red or pink, dry, and even severe to hair loss. These symptoms may be caused by food allergies.

Symptoms 5:Tear Stains

Dogs often scratch their eyes, and the eyes are often accompanied by sticky substances. The sticky substances block the tears and cause more tear production. It can also cause inflammation and irritate the dog’s eyes.

The above symptoms are all signals to the owners: your dog is allergic, and it is most likely caused by food.

Owners can consider changing from the diet to help their dogs reduce allergies.

First, the owners can have a food allergy test for your dog.
